Stirling school kids welcome ex pupil Kenny Logan

Kenny Logan journal...

"I recently took a trip down memory lane to visit my old school, Riverside Primary, in Stirling. My main reason for going was to meet a few of the pupils starting The STEP Programme - a physical literacy initiative, at the start of next term.

The children talked to me (some of them at the same time!) about their hopes and dreams for future careers and I asked them how they dealt with challenges such as learning a new language or subject. I was so inspired by the ambitions of these incredible individuals - still not yet a decade old and also by how committed their teachers are to helping them achieve daily goals.

Assembly was about differing roles in society and we shared our high aspirations, after which, I was given a tour of the school by the pupil council and noted how the buildings have changed both inside and out since I left a very long time ago! Bravo to The Pupil Council - you guys are excellent school ambassadors and I really enjoyed hearing about the different roles you play in school – great prep for the world of work!

Headteacher - Kay Robertson, is utterly committed to raising standards of achievement and attainment within a context of lifelong learning. I'm convinced STEP will help to meet learners’ needs and to tackle the barriers that may prevent their success.

I look forward to going back again (if they will have me!) to see the progress the Riverside STEP team are making."
